Take a look at "The Underdoge", our qualifying machine for Elon Musk's Not-a-Boring Competition. This machine was challenged to bore a 30-meter tunnel with a cross-sectional area of 0.2 square meters (equivalent to a circle with a 0.5-meter diameter). With our unique and unconventional design, the odds were against us. However, with our talented roster, the Underdoge was awarded 'Fastest Launch' design by The Boring Company.

Our tunnel boring machine (TBM) uses a custom built cutterface integrated with rollers and rippers to break ground. It is then steered by a Stewart platform giving it six degrees-of-freedom as it is propelled by four hydraulic pistons on the surface capable of 150,000 lbs of force! To put this into perspective, a Boeing 737 engine can only produce 14,500 pounds of force in comparison. Focusing on economic sensibility, The Diggeridoos took on the challenge of creating innovative and  low-cost transportation head on, budgeting under $50,000 to the machine, a fraction of average production costs for TBMs.
